From a dome on luxe hotel rooftops to a refurbished helicopter in Scotland, there are so many ways to glamp. But the best kind of glamping balances luxury with proximity to nature. No site does that better than these clear “Jungle Bubbles” that let you sleep alongside elephants.
Located in Northern Thailand, the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort stretches across a dense jungle. Perched on a hill, the resort overlooks the flowing rivers. It’s in such a prime viewing location that you can see the confluence of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. In addition to viewing those three countries, you’ll also get to observe grazing elephants in their natural habitat. The best place to spend your stay gazing at the majestic mammals is in the resort’s Jungle Bubbles.
Made with high-tech polyester fabric, the transparent Jungle Bubbles sit on raised wooden decks, so you’ll get an uninterrupted view of the elephants and the starry sky. A true glamping experience, you’ll find a king-size bed, a seating area, bathrobes, slippers, crisp bed linen, and feather pillows inside the fully air-conditioned bubbles. There’s also opaque accommodations attached to the bubbles that include a bathroom and vanity

Worried about the elephants’ safety? According to the Anantara press release about the Jungle Bubbles, the resort’s elephant camp, along with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation, was created to help elephants that are unable to help themselves. At the camp, caretakers look after the elephants without forcing them into activities they wouldn’t want to do.
Rates start at 17,700 Thai Baht, or about 580 dollars, per night for two people. In addition to staying in the Jungle Bubbles, you’ll also get a dinner basket, a fully stocked mini bar, and a 24-hour in-room dining service.
