PENNSYLVANIA — Sun Retreats Lancaster County is one of the top 10 campgrounds in the United States, according to a report Tuesday that evaluates the best places in North America for unforgettable outdoor experiences.
The 2025 Campspot Awards, presented by the national campgrounds booking platform Campspot, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, are broken down into various categories and recognize everything from unique, off-the-beaten-path escapes to glamping and amenity-packed resorts.
Sun Retreats Lancaster County, located at 576 Yellow Hill Road in Narvon, was ranked No. 3 on the list of top campgrounds in the United States.
The awards program, now in its fourth year, is based on more than 3 million data points — including, in addition to the category-specific rankings, guest ratings, reservation data, park features, and the quality of marketplace listing pages.
Highlighted campgrounds excel in delivering memorable outdoor experiences, Campspot said in a news release. Whether for family vacations, quiet getaways, or immersive nature experiences, these parks demonstrate the many ways that camping has evolved across North America, Erin Stender, Campspot’s chief marketing officer, said in a news release.
“The Campspot Awards aim to recognize those parks that are delivering outstanding guest experiences and embodying the spirit of modern camping,” Stender said “This year’s winners represent the variety and depth of camping in North America today.”
Stender added, “Every campground on this list provides a unique experience for campers, and they’ve earned their place as the best in the business.”
Among the 2025 winners are several standout parks:
Top Campground in the U.S.: Verde Ranch RV Resort, Camp Verde, Arizona, known for striking red rock landscapes and easy access to nearby trails and the Verde River.
Top Glamping Campground: Broad River Campground, Mooresboro, North Carolina, which offers a mix of nature and luxury in the state’s foothills region.
Top Unique Campground: True West Campground Stables and Mercantile, Jamestown, Tennessee, offers a step back in time to the frontier days with horse trails and boarding, a western mercantile, and old-time charm.
Top Hidden Gem: The Cove Pub Campground, Inverness, Florida, offers a relaxing retreat nestled among towering trees, with unique pub-style dining and peaceful waterside camping.
