If you enjoy everything about camping except roughing it, then glamping can be a great option for experiencing the outdoors in comfort. A combination of the words ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping,’ glamping is camping with more amenities than those that come with simply pitching a tent.
In recent days, USA Today’s 10Best published a list of nine options found around the U.S. that offer glamping adventures, and Vail’s Piney River Ranch made the list.
Tucked at the bottom of the Gore Range and on the edge of the stunning Piney Lake, Piney River Ranch is a private, 40-acre property full of streams, meadows, and waterfalls. The ranch is open seasonally from June 21 through the last Saturday in September.
Guests can choose to stay in luxury canvas tents or private cabins along the shore of the lake. After a day of hiking, canoeing, or fishing, guests can return to dine at the log cabin-style restaurant or grill meals on private barbecues. There is also potable water, electricity, and coffee in the cabins, making it a true glamping experience.
