Upstate NY campground named one of the best glamping spots in U.S.

Craving a camping adventure, but don’t relish sleeping on the unforgiving ground?

A glampsite in one of the most beautiful corners of Upstate New York offers one of the top-rated glamping experiences in America — including tents furnished with cushy mattresses.

Naturluxe & Stars has been named one of the best glamping spots in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best.

It marked the second time the campsite just outside Watkins Glen in the Finger Lakes made 10Best‘s list of the best glamping spots.

Naturluxe & Stars was the only spot in New York to make 10Best‘s roundup of the nation’s top glamping spots. It ranked No. 8 on a list that included campsites ranging from Santa Rosa, California to Benzonia, Michigan.

Naturluxe & Stars opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by then-Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul in June 2021.

The glamping (short for “glamorous camping”) site is housed next to the famous Watkins Glen International racetrack and seven minutes from the waterfall-filled Watkins Glen State Park, one of the best state parks in Upstate New York.

In its roundup, 10Best gushed about Naturluxe & Stars’ “unique glamping experience.”

Guests can choose to stay in one of three types of sturdy tents at Naturluxe & Stars.

All of the tents feature “plush” beds, according to the campsite’s website. The most luxurious option, the Safari Tent, features a bathroom with a shower; reading chairs; and rustic, boutique-hotel vibes.

Naturluxe & Stars offers s’mores by campfires on weekends. Unlike your average campground, the luxurious campground boasts internet, a lounge and board games for guests.

Its prime location near Watkins Glen makes Naturluxe & Stars a good basecamp for Finger Lakes fun.

“Guests can enjoy activities like wine tasting on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and hiking at Watkins Glen State Park,” 10Best wrote.
