The best campsites and caravan parks in Scotland have been crowned at the prestigious annual Camping and Glamping Awards, with one Fort William site winning big.
Scotland’s top campsites have been named at a prestigious annual awards.
All over Scotland, there are countless campsites and caravan parks where you can head for an idyllic staycation surrounded by nature. The best in the country were crowned earlier this week as part of the Camping and Glamping Awards 2024.
The top winner at the awards was Glen Nevis Caravan and Camping Park, which took home two top prizes. The Fort William campsite was awarded both the Best Campsite Award (Scotland – Highlands and Argyll) and the Best Family Campsite Award (Scotland – Highlands and Argyll).
Glen Nevis Caravan and Camping Park is situated on a scenic estate at the foot of Ben Nevis. It features a variety of grass and hardstanding pitches for tents and tourers, as well as modern camping pods.
Onsite facilities include showers and toilets with wash basins, hand and hair dryers, dishwashing areas, laundry rooms, and a children’s play park. Dogs are also welcome, with the site including special exercise areas for pets.
There is also a small shop at the reception, and even a bar and restaurant. The restaurant serves pub classics and traditional Scottish dishes, while the bar offers a wide range of whiskies and gins.
Glen Nevis Caravan and Camping Park has also earned rave reviews from visitors, with a 4.74 star rating on Campsites.co.uk. Meanwhile, 98 per cent of campers have said they would recommend the site to others.
One shared: “The best campsite I’ve ever stayed at in Scotland”.
Meanwhile, a second wrote: “Views of Ben Nevis are stunning from the site!”
Elsewhere, other winners at the Camping and Glamping Awards 2024 include Bunroy Park in Fort William and Balloch O Dee in Newton Stewart, which took home the Best Caravan Park (Scotland – Highlands and Argyll) and Best Campsite (Scotland – Central Lowlands and Southern Uplands) prizes respectively.
