Three new facilities have been announced by Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) for locals and tourists to enjoy on Lazarus Island.
These include a newly opened watersports centre and gourmet convenience store, along with a glamping service targeted to launch by the end of 2023. To ensure eco-friendly practices, the facilities were also planned with nature groups like Friends of Marine Park.
A new watersports centre, Lazarus Sea Sports Centre (LSSC), is located on Lazarus Island. At this facility, visitors can expect to partake in non-motorised water activities like stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, waterbiking and floating yoga boards amid the scenic waters of the Southern Islands.
The centre also features a single designated launching zone for the watercrafts, which ensures minimal environmental impact on the seabed in the area.
Aside from watersports, LSSC will hold programmes like marine conservation workshops, beach clean-ups and guided eco-tours.
The facility’s opening hours are from 10am to 4pm on Fridays. On weekends and public holidays, the centre will be open from 10am to 5pm.
Private bookings will be required from Monday to Thursdays. Interested visitors can make enquiries through its website.
For readily available food and beverage options on Lazarus Island, visitors can head to a new convenience store – Sol by Bespoke Dining Club (BDC). This facility will provide day-to-day necessities and groceries for individuals on the island.
Microwavable ready-to-eat meals and ready-to-grill seafood will be available for purchase at the store. The food is curated by renowned chef-owner Samuel Quan, who runs the restaurant Eclipse by BDC.
Customers can also utilise barbecue pits made out of eco-friendly materials to cook their ready-to-grill produce.
In line with eco-tourism efforts, Sol by BDC features a unique storefront repurposed from old shipping containers. Seafood, herbs and vegetables offered in the convenience store are all sourced from offshore local fish, hydroponic, and vertical farms in Singapore.
The store will be open on Fridays to Sundays from 10am to 6pm. More information about Sol by BDC can also be found on the BDC website.
Through overnight beachfront glamping experiences on Lazarus Island, Into the Woods will encourage visitors to take a break and reconnect with nature. This service will let guests stay in one of the nine glamping units that accommodates up to four visitors each.
Guests can look out for key features like the uninterrupted coastal views from the glamping tents. The facility will also provide various activities, including yoga, outdoor picnicking and watercolour painting. Other highlights are scheduled group activities and workshops, such as upcycling demonstrations.
A special eco-friendly welcome kit with “plantable” stationery and a natural watercolour painting set will also be provided to guests upon their arrival.
Into the Woods is scheduled to launch in late 2023. Individuals interested in the glamping experience can head over to the company’s website for more information.
All three new facilities are additions to the previously launched Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island and a bicycle rental kiosk by Go Green Eco Adventure on St John’s Island.
To get to Lazarus Island, visitors can first head to the Sentosa Jetty@Cove, where they will have to take a 15 minute boat ride.
