(SPOT.ph) When it comes to glamping or “glamorous camping,” we’ve probably seen it all. Fully air-conditioned cabins? Check! A big bell tent with a terrace? Sure! A colorful set-up by the beach? Definitely! But one thing that’s new to our list is a row of geodesic domes—which Glamping Etcetera in Cavinti, Laguna offers to guests.
Here’s where you can go glamping in a geodesic dome in the Philippines:

The glamping site opened in December 2018 to welcome friends and family, but it wasn’t until April when they started booking guests. In an e-mail exchange with SPOT.ph, owners Radhika and Andoop Kundur explained that their geodesic tents were completely built on site through the help of local carpenters. The domes are based on a geodesic polyhedron, which is why they’re able to withstand structural stress and heavy loads on all parts.

Glamping Etcetera has three domes: Dome Veera, Dome BalaGhee, and Dome Mufli King. The tents come with their own restrooms, queen-sized beds, and electricity through solar power. Booking rate, which is at P2,900 per night, is inclusive of home-cooked breakfast and free use of kayaks, floaters, body boards, and fishing poles—which you can enjoy in the waters of Lumot Lake.
You can also rent a boat, which they call the Liit Alitaptap, for P700 an hour. It’s also perfect for a sunset cruise around the placid lake.

“Our place is just absolutely perfect for laying your claim to a hammock (plenty available), grab a book, or just simply do nothing. In this day and age, that is the real luxury many cannot afford,” the owner adds. The couple also boasted about life’s simple pleasures that they share with guests: “lying down on the grass, looking at the sky, spotting shapes in the clouds, hearing the birds chirp, feeling the cool fresh mountain air on their skin; or just admiring the stars at night sitting around the warmth of a bonfire.”
Glamping Etcetera is in Lake Lumot, Cavinti, Laguna. For more information, follow Glamping Etc. Philippines on Facebook.
